One Photo A Day: June 2016

There is no bad light. There is spectacular light and difficult light. It's up to you to use the light you have.

The first half of the challenge is now over and I finally, for the first time can feel that I might possibly get to the end of it. Though I don't want to wish the year away, as there are many more wonderful moments ahead of us.

June was a much quieter month, so I managed to dedicate a little bit more time to photography and make a few special trips with my camera. The weather was very changeable, from foreboding skies and downpours of rain to hot summer days with cloudless blue skies and back to heavy storms with light I could only wish for.

Each day a different mood and with it a new opportunity. Each day I continue to learn how to love the conditions nature throws at me, and try to capture something different. Each day I learn to love the light and space that I have available. As they say, there is no such thing as good light or bad light, there is only light. You just have to find the right subject. I still have a lot to learn, but that is the joy of it all. The anticipation, the excitement over what a new day will bring.

The greatest lesson I have learned in life is that I still have a lot to learn.
