Unexpected Beauty

It was still dark when I arrived at the car park in Bushy Park. I didn't plan to be there. I wanted to spend a day by the seaside. But as it happens in life, my plans were changed by unforeseen circumstances, and I could only go out in the morning. A local park seemed to be a good standby option. As it turned out, it was the best one.

After a short walk I reached one of the ponds, found a nice spot and set up my tripod. My heart skipped a beat as I was watching the pre-dawn light changing the scenery before me into a misty wonderland. First there was dark blue stillness. The silence was only broken by fierce calls of rutting stags. It made the eerie atmosphere of the misty darkness even more chilling. Then there were pinks and purples of the rising sun reflecting in the clouds. The birds started to wake up and enjoy the first warm sun rays. And then there was gold, the rain of sunshine everywhere, making the majestic trees glow with amber light and morning dew glisten like little jewels...

Later on the sun went into hiding behind thick clouds which painted the rest of the day in grey. However those few moments in the morning brightened up my thoughts, and made it easier for me to deal with the rest of the tasks ahead.

I didn't have a lot of time, I didn't walk very far and I didn't take many photographs. However I found exactly what was right for me and for that day. Even if your day doesn't give you what you planned, it will offer you other opportunities, if you stay open to what is right for you...
