One Photo A Day: 2016

Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand and melting like a snowflake.

2015 was a wonderful year in many ways. However I didn't seem to be able to find enough time for my personal photography. The beginning of the year is usually time for starting afresh, with a clean slate, leaving the past behind and looking forward to what awaits us just round the corner. That is exactly what I would like to focus on instead of setting myself usual New Year resolutions, which I hardly ever stick to in the end. So this year is going to be more about having fun, spending time with my partner, family, friends, and of course with my camera. More walking, more exploring, more photograph taking, more happy times. Savouring every moment of every day...

So when I was invited by members of Storrington Camera Club to join their 366 (one photo a day for the whole year) project, I decided to take a leap of faith and go for it. I have always wanted to do it, but was never disciplined enough to complete it. The club members have been very supportive, which helps with my motivation. So does making my project public. It is a big commitment, and I am as much afraid of failing as I am excited about undertaking it and completing it. I will give it my best shot and try to deliver pictures that I don't have to be ashamed of. But my main goal is to spend more time taking photographs for myself, and have  fun doing it. So let it begin.

If you would like to see my progress on this website, please see the links for each month below. The website posts quite often include more details and more photos, as some days are more inspiring than others. The most important thing is that I am finally making sure that I dedicate some of my free time to enjoying what I love so that there are no regrets in the future.

And then there is the most dangerous risk of all - the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.
