Lover of Rain

I love rain. I find its pitter-patter on a rooftop or against a windowpane one of the most peaceful sounds in the world. It's calming, it's refreshing, it's comforting. Whether the rain is light and soft or fast and hard, the sound is just so relaxing and nice to listen to.

Watching trails of rain falling on windows is very restful. And listening to rain while lying in bed or curling up on a sofa with a nice cup of tea and a good book is very soothing. But most of all I love walking in the rain. The moisture in the air makes it feel so fresh, and all the colours are so much brighter. I love to feel the raindrops on my skin. Being in the rain makes me feel alive.  It makes me feel free from all my worries, troubles and fears because all that matters is that moment.

I love the smell on the streets while it’s raining and after it had rained. That wet and rainy scent is delightful,  it's like breathing fresh air. It’s moist and cold and it smells so good.

Rainy days are not gloomy. I love the greyness of the sky and that beautiful darkness the rain brings.  As somebody once said, you can find joy in dancing amongst the raindrops. It is the only way when you live in a country where it rains a lot. It's the only way if we want to enjoy each and every moment we have.

Pluviophile: A lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days.

Collins Dictionary
Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.

Langston Hughes
