Day 73 of 366: Softly, as a New Day Begins

It was a great weekend at Arena Seminar in Bournemouth. We had fantastic speakers, including two Arena members Cathy Roberts with her beautifully delicate and feminine images capturing her favourite subjects - dance and the art of nature. Paul Mitchell talked about his passion for pinhole photography and showed us an inspiring selection of his beautifully atmospheric images.

Peter Dazeley's fascinating presentation "Unseen London" took us to hidden, and often disappearing corners of this amazing city.

Roger Tiley's captivating talk focusing on his work documenting miners, their lives and their families felt very close to me as I grew up in a coal mining city.

I admired Lottie Davies's sense of adventure, endless enthusiasm, passion, and creativity, which won her the First Prize at the Taylor Wessing Portrait Awards at the National Portrait Gallery.

A wonderfully touching story about the first Mongolian eagle huntress by Asher Svidensky, an Israel based documentary photographer, was a great end of a great weekend.

I met some wonderful like minded people, and also managed to enjoy a couple of early mornings on Bournemouth beach. Back to work now, but with some lovely memories... Until next time.
