Day 355 of 366: At Gate 41

You know… the airport is the only place you can walk around with no shoes, a glazed look on your face, and sleep on the benches and no one judges you.

Coriander Woodruff

There is a lot to dislike about airports. They don't exactly have a good reputation. Long queues everywhere, tight security, delayed flights, screaming children, thousands of people pushing and shoving while trying to get somewhere, overpriced and overcrowded shops and bars, never enough seats or quiet corners to spend your waiting hour in.

Nevertheless airports are a vibrant, bizarre and eccentric microcosm full of human drama that provide an endless inspiration, if one of your favourite pastimes is people watching. It is all about perception. If you can't change them, accept them and love them as they are. Just look around and learn how to appreciate this strange and exciting world called airport.
