Day 350 of 366: Christmas Market

I quite often walk across Leadenhall Market on my way to work and always admire its stunning architecture. It is one of the oldest markets in London, dating from the 14th century. It is a little historic oasis in the middle of the modern City of London financial district. Originally a meat, game and poultry market, it stands on what was the centre of Roman London. The ornate roof painted green, maroon and cream, and the cobbled floors add to the beauty of the place. Its elegant architecture is especially beautiful at Christmas time, so it made sense to capture it on my last day in the office before the break for the festive season.
