2021 Week 51: Where The Lost Things Go

This time of the year is the time to be jolly and surround ourselves with people we love. Though it is the time when we also miss what we lost, the beloved people that are no longer here. This Christmas is the first one without my Mum and no words can express how much I miss her. I realise that I am not the only one who is going through the same pain of loss. Therefore this is for those who lost someone they loved too. On Christmas Day we watched Mary Poppins Returns and loved it. Wonderful, touching and uplifting story all in all, but one song in particular. The Place Where Lost Things Go beautifully sung by Emily Blunt. Listening to it filled my eyes with tears but at the same time it brought a feeling of warmth and comfort. Especially the last part of the lyrics. So I hope that perhaps it will also bring some comfort to those who are missing what they lost…

So when you need her touch
And loving gaze
Gone but not forgotten
Is the perfect phrase
Smiling from a star
That she makes glow
Trust she’s always there
Watching as you grow
Find her in the place
Where the lost things go
The Place Where Lost Things Go

She was free in her wildness. She was a wanderess, a drop of free water. She belonged to no man and to no city.
