The first time in over two years Martin and I had a holiday. It felt so good to get out and do a little bit of travelling and a lot of walking. We spent the first November week in one of our favourite places. The Lake District. The first two days were a little bit wetter than we would have liked. But it didn't matter. We rented a little cottage on the outskirts of Ambleside and stayed cosy when the weather turned for worse. But most of the time we were really lucky. We even had many sunshine breaks and spectacular views. Isn't rain just glorious?
As for photography, I didn't let the rain spoil it for me. I ventured out early on Sunday morning for the blue hour, just to get to the spot, get soaked and windswept. Still, it was worth every drop of rain. The blue hour was spectacular. And I had the place utterly for myself.
