2021 Week 26: The Only Way Is Essex Way

This week I went back to exploring the Thames Estuary. The area that I fell in love with a couple of years ago and which is now a subject of one of my photographic projects.

I love both the Essex and the Kent sides, which makes it really hard for me to make a decision where to go first. But this time it was the Essex turn. Paglesham and Lion's Creek in particular. Summer is not exactly my favourite season for photography. So for me it was an opportunity to get to know the area a little better and plan a photography trip later in the year, when the weather conditions are right.

The photographs sum up the day very well. What they don't show though are the blisters I ended up with. Instead of wearing my proper walking boots I decided to wear my wellies. I didn't exactly plan to do a 13 mile walk. It just happened. It's not the first time it happened to me. I love being spontaneous, I just forget that I always need to be better prepared for my random decisions. Perhaps one day I will eventually learn my lesson.
